Theresa A. Pesch, RN
Chair of the Board of Directors
Ms. Pesch serves as the Company’s Board Chair. Ms. Pesch led the team that launched and successfully completed The Children’s Hospital of Minnesota’s $150 million Next Generation of Care fundraising campaign, the largest capital campaign in the organization's history. During her tenure at Children’s she raised $250 million during a period of a major economic downturn. By raising community support to unprecedented levels, she helped Children's fundraising increase seven-fold, which has provided the organization with resources for innovation, as well as substantial facility and technological improvements.
Ms. Pesch has extensive health care leadership experience with clinical areas, marketing and branding, government affairs, and public health. Originally trained in nursing, she has 25 years of health care administration experience and frequently presents at national philanthropy conferences. Additionally, she has served in leadership roles for numerous boards and currently serves on the Women's Health Leadership TRUST. She is a member of Women Business Leaders in Health Care and Women Presidents’ Organization, Inc., and served as a faculty member of Kaiser's Philanthropy Innovations Institute and the AHP Madison Institute. Ms. Pesch received the 2012 Business Woman of the Year award from Business Journal. She currently is a partner in and owner of several family businesses.
Justin Zenanko, CPA, MACS
Co-Founder, Chief Executive Officer and Director
Mr. Zenanko is a Certified Public Accountant with extensive experience in corporate finance and startup development. He serves as the Senior Vice President of Corporate Development and before that served as the first CFO of Recombinetics, Inc., where he led fundraising efforts resulting in $34 million in angel funding and an additional $34 million in Series A funding in August 2018 from a strategic investor. Mr. Zenanko has been devoting all of his time as our CEO beginning October 15, 2018. Additionally, he currently serves on the Board of Directors at Recombinetics, Inc.
Mr. Zenanko holds a Bachelor of Arts degree with majors in Accounting, Economics with Emphasis in Finance, and Marketing from Simpson College. He also holds a Master of Arts in Christian Studies from Crown College.
Nazmi Peyman, MD
Original Founder and Director
Dr. Peyman has over two decades of experience in clinical pain management, with special emphasis on treating neck and back pain using spinal injection techniques, radiofrequency ablation, and electrical neuromodulation. He is affiliated with numerous professional organizations, including the Spine Intervention Society and the American Society of Interventional Pain Physicians.
He currently serves as the Medical Director of Richmond Spine Interventions and Pain Center where he has practiced for 15+ years. Dr. Peyman completed his training at the Albert Einstein College of Medicine/Montefiore Medical Center in New York. He is certified by the American Board of Anesthesiology and the American Academy of Pain Management.
Gregory F. Molnar, PhD
Co-Founder, Chief Scientific Officer and Director
Dr. Molnar has over 20 years of experience as a medical device innovator. He currently serves as an Associate Professor in the Department of Neurology at the University of Minnesota (UMN) and provides leadership to the clinical and preclinical research teams across the UMN Deep Brain Stimulation (DBS) Research program.
Dr. Molnar began his career at Medtronic. He served as the Director of Neuromodulation Research and led his team of scientists to advance our understanding of several therapies including DBS, Spinal Cord Stimulation, Sacral Nerve Stimulation, Gastric Stimulation and Intrathecal Drug Infusion. Dr. Molnar has authored numerous patents and publications in the neuromodulation space, and his research and inventions benefit patients today.
Mr. O’Dell is a proven entrepreneur and business leader with over 25 years of experience, including roles as CEO and Corporate Director with both private and public companies. As Co-Founder/CEO of August Technology, he grew the company to 300+ employees and led a $200 million IPO. In 2006 August Technology merged with Rudolph Technologies, an NYSE-listed company where he served on its board until 2008.
He currently serves in senior executive roles and as an active board member for early-stage and emerging growth companies. He has brought strong team development, business strategy and leadership to companies such as Rudolph Technologies, The Reserve and Nurse Health Group. Mr. O’Dell is also an active member of the National Association of Corporate Directors (NACD). He holds a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Minnesota.
Dee Thibodeau is an owner and CEO in the technology, analytics and healthcare area, and has been a leader in healthcare for over 10 years. She currently is on the M Health Board and Chairs the Quality and Patient Care area.
Ms. Thibodeau has held executive positions in technology for more than 25 years, and has deep cross industry and leadership experience in operations, P&L management, strategic positioning, innovation and change management. Her work with the Minnesota High Tech Association has enabled her to be involved in technology partnering with businesses to accomplish high growth and sustainability. Ms. Thibodeau is a Managing Partner of Sofia Fund, which invests in high-growth, women-led businesses.
Tim Skaja is an accomplished entrepreneur, thought leader, and senior executive and with more than 20 years of success across various industries including telecommunications and corrections. As co-founder and CEO of Renovo Software, he grew the company into the technology and market leader which led to a private equity strategic exit. His broad areas of expertise include providing leadership, P&L management, strategic business planning, operational efficiencies and scale, innovation and intellectual property protection to start-up and growth businesses.
Throughout his career, Tim has held executive leadership positions with Global Tel*Link, Renovo Software, Inc., and Todd Communications.
Andrew D.C. LaFrence, CPA
Mr. LaFrence has 35 years of accounting and finance experience, including executive management positions at public and private life sciences companies. He currently serves as the Senior Vice President and Chief Financial Officer of Biothera. Previously, he was Vice President Finance, Information Systems and Chief Financial Officer at Surmodics, Inc. (NASDAQ: SRDX) for five years. Prior to Surmodics, Mr. LaFrence served as Chief Financial Officer for CNS Therapeutics, a venture-backed intrathecal drug company. He was an audit partner at KPMG LLP where he focused on supporting venture-backed, high-growth medical technology, pharmaceutical, biotech and clean tech private and public companies. Mr. LaFrence is a certified public accountant and has a bachelor’s degree in accounting and a minor in business administration from Illinois State University.
